Los Angeles Family Photographer – The G Family

This family rules. They chose an at home session and it was perfect. Gorgeous yard and the kids felt right at home…literally. These brothers were amazing. Different personalities and so much love for each other. It was such an easy session because the oldest brother  was like a creative director for me. He would grab his baby brother and find a place to sit and pose, while the other brother was demonstrating his skillful tree climbing. Needless to say, my camera and I were so entertained the whole time. Then there is baby brother and his BFF Teddy. Teddy has been in the family for years and has been passed down between the brothers. Teddy needed his own picture and I got one, but baby brother wouldn’t let Teddy sit alone for too long and sat down right next to him. I love that it was real moment sitting with Teddy and not at all staged, even though it looks staged.

FUN FACT: I have know mom since I was a child and knew that we were related in some way. I was pretty sure we were cousins, but not first cousins. I think I did the math right, and she is actually my 4th cousin. It was really great seeing her and my cousin in law again AND finally meeting their kids. This shoot really felt like being with family…well…because they are, right?

Camarillo Newborn Photographer / 8 Weeks Old Going On 5 Months

A couple of months ago, I had the pleasure of doing a family/new baby shoot for this new family. Never in my career have I gotten emotional while editing photos, until now. These new parents are so enamored by their little girl that it just melted my heart and filled me with all sorts of happiness. This baby girl is AMAZING! So advanced that at 8 weeks, she was trying to stand when we tried the baby in the basket shot. It was hilarious. She also rolled over for the first time while there.  It startled her and she cried which was sad, but it was also so impressive. I LOVE newborn shoots and although baby girl didn’t want to sleep for us to try the posed shots (because she was not quite a newborn anymore) she was smiling and happy. You can get smiles out of a newborn while having a happy dream, but genuine smiles are an older baby thing and I encourage new parents out there to understand that if they miss the 2 to 4 week old window for “newborn” pictures, it’s OK. There is so much precious baby that should still be photographed at 8 weeks, 10, 12, etc. See for yourself! 🙂

Hollywood Newborn Photographer / 3 weeks premature and PERFECT!

Meet baby Olivia. Such a GOOD baby and SO advanced! 3 weeks premature and you would never guess it. She was alert and SMILING! She was very hungry and there were lots of feedings, but never any real crying. She is so calm and overall happy. Such a great new family and I feel so honored that they chose me to document this time in their lives. You can check out their maternity photos here.
