Ventura County Lifestyle Photographer – The N Family

This family is just adorable. I was so thrilled that they contacted me for a second shoot. First shoot was when the youngest Huntington was a newborn. I love getting the opportunity to see the changes and growth of my clients’ children. These boys are so cute and Huntington still has the same adorable chin that I fell in love with at his newborn shoot. It was a tad blustery at the beach but I actually love wind swept hair. On boys it’s even more adorable. It was low tide, so we got to work with some awesome alge covered rocks. It was so great. My favorite part of the shoot was when Hayden stripped off his pants and was free. Shortly after that, baby brother Huntington got to be free too. LOVED IT!

Newbury Park Family Photographer – Three Amazing Kids

Here are some kids that I am in awe over. They are AMAZING! I know this family through my daughter Amelie’s school and what lucky people we are to know them. Not only are they the nicest family, but when my daughter Amelie gets together with Dominic (the brother in the plaid) they are like two peas in a pod. Amelie is more on the weird side while Dominic is more silly, but they get along so great. Dominic is such a sweet and kind person. They totally have my permission to get married when they grow up. I just had to put that out there. 😉

These sibling blow me away. They have so much love and respect for each other. The boys are twins. Jeremy in the red shirt is autistic. I had no idea what to expect from our shoot because I didn’t know Jeremy very well. I worried that my camera in his face might overwhelm him. What a foolish fear for me to have had! He was SO MUCH FUN! He was full of smiles and watching him see the world was such an honor. The way his siblings interact with him melted my heart. I really can’t gush over them enough. Big sister Angelina is an angel. Seriously, her name is PERFECT for her. These kids must make their parents so proud and I have no doubt that they will be amazing adults in the future. This shoot was for Dad’s birthday present. I feel so honored to have been chosen for this job.

Show Your Walls At Home Some Love!

I have lived in my house for 5 years with pretty much BLANK walls. I finally found a lab that offers something super cool. CIRCLE PRINTS!!! So fun and I feel safe with them on my walls because they are very lightweight. They are mounted on white foam board and I just bought some velcro to stick them onto my walls. So easy! The largest size that I had ordered is 12 inches in diameter and the smallest was 6 inches in diameter.

I want you to have some circle prints too! If you book a shoot with me before March 31st, you will get 3 circle prints added to your photo package (any size up to 12″ valued at $150). To break it down, you get an on location photo shoot for one hour, a private online gallery with the ability to download images sized up to 4×6, a 5×5 or 5×7 photo book with all of the images from the gallery, 3 circle prints up to 12″, and a $50 print credit. Please take a look at my package pricing here.

I also have ONE more offer for you. I really love doing annual projects. You can have one circle print a month and collect 12 over the course of a year! I am currently offering an annual deal where you get 1 mini session (30 minutes) a month for 12 months for $125 a month. I have 2 spots left on that deal. OR if you would rather book my Yearbook deal where I get to document your year more thoroughly, I will include 12 circle prints in that package up to 16″. You can view my yearbook package by clicking on the package pricing link above.

I hope you all like these prints as much as I do. Contact me soon to book your session! Email me at angie@angelavaleriephotography.com

STORYBOARD 3

Southern Calfornia Story Telling Photography – The Nelke Family

This blog post is LONG overdue. I was so booked up last fall that when I shot this session of my sister and her family, I told her that she would have to wait to get the images and that she would just have to pick from un-edited pictures to have me edit quickly and email to her for her Christmas card. Well, things didn’t start slowing down until about now! Better late than never, though. 🙂 I loved this shoot even on such a gloomy day. We just had fun at the beach and marina. Anywhere where kids can run and play is fun, really (although there was no running at the marina. That wouldn’t be safe). Poor baby Camille was coming down with a fever and through all of the smiles, some cranky and sad came out, but not much. She was a trooper especially since we didn’t know she was feverish until after the shoot.

When our shoot started, there was another family photo shoot going on. To my surprise, they happened to know my sister and her husband. It was a totally different type of photo shoot and I posted a small view of what it was like for the other photographer. It’s the last image in this post.

And then there they are. The large family all dressed in white shirts and blue jeans. They seemed like a totally awesome family and they probably got fantastic photos that they LOVE.  I just want you to know that this is NOT what I do. I need to tell a story even if there are some posed family pictures during the shoot, the majority of the shoot is documentary. I will document your time because that is what I feel is important in family photography. That’s all. The end. 🙂IMG_7662

Newbury Park Newborn Photographer – Baby P

This little baby girl has the BEST hair! I just couldn’t get enough of it. She is so sweet and so cute. I am very happy that I got to meet her and her awesome parents. This shoot was great because it was a little of everything. A newborn session, family session, and a tiny bit of documentary. Their dog is a recent rescue and is the sweetest thing. So gentle and loving.  There was limited light in the house and it was a rainy day, but we got some great window light and then when the rain stopped we went to an outdoor location for some family shots.

Camarillo Newborn Photographer / 8 Weeks Old Going On 5 Months

A couple of months ago, I had the pleasure of doing a family/new baby shoot for this new family. Never in my career have I gotten emotional while editing photos, until now. These new parents are so enamored by their little girl that it just melted my heart and filled me with all sorts of happiness. This baby girl is AMAZING! So advanced that at 8 weeks, she was trying to stand when we tried the baby in the basket shot. It was hilarious. She also rolled over for the first time while there.  It startled her and she cried which was sad, but it was also so impressive. I LOVE newborn shoots and although baby girl didn’t want to sleep for us to try the posed shots (because she was not quite a newborn anymore) she was smiling and happy. You can get smiles out of a newborn while having a happy dream, but genuine smiles are an older baby thing and I encourage new parents out there to understand that if they miss the 2 to 4 week old window for “newborn” pictures, it’s OK. There is so much precious baby that should still be photographed at 8 weeks, 10, 12, etc. See for yourself! 🙂

Thousand Oaks Documentary Family Photographer – A Double Baptism

I must admit, I was very nervous to photograph this baptism. The one and only other baptism I photographed was not my best work…then again…it was a long time ago and I have come a long way since then. BUT, it still didn’t help my nerves. My challenges from the first baptism I shot was that there were people crowding around and I couldn’t get in a good enough position to get good shots. Then, it was over. SO QUICK! I also didn’t treat it like an event because it was my niece’s baptism and I had my own kids with me. But, still, the memory of failure sits deep inside. This baptism on the other hand was PERFECT! No crowding and more space. The girls were amazing. Not a whimper out of them and the light was good enough to shoot without flash. I used my flash on a few images (not featured) that I actually liked. But, overall, natural light is what I fancy. The baby was wearing mom’s baptism dress from when she was a baby! How perfect is that? And sentimental. I hope that the girls will pass it down to their girls and so on. So sweet. I don’t think I will be as nervous for the next baptism to come my way. I look forward to it!

Conejo Valley Family photographer – The M Family

This was more than I had expected. Mom went above and beyond to stylize her photo shoot. I just love all of the details from her handmade (by handmade I mean, made by her!) patchwork  blanket and banner, to the vintage milk bottles and neutral balloons to the stylish wardrobe. It was such a perfect set up for the kids who devoured their milk and cookies and frolicked with their balloons. The sun went down fast and it got cold too, so the shoot was cut short. Luckily, there was no shortage of good shots. They are all so comfortable in front of the camera. LOVE THIS FAMILY!

Oh, and I shot a small movie during this session too, but it may be a while before I figure out how to edit it. HA!

Conejo Valley Family Photographer – Joy and her boys

Back to my favorite place in Newbury Park for this family session that was a blast. The kids LOVE the camera and they love being out in nature. The weather couldn’t have been nicer and I really just feel so comfortable around this family. Joy is one of those people that I feel so fortunate to have in my life, even if we don’t get to talk all that often. To me, she is the epitome of her name. She makes you feel welcome, important, and happy. She is always so positive and is such an amazing mother. She is actually a super mom. NO JOKE! She runs her own daycare business and still has energy to care for her boys and take them to all of their sports and activities AND even take care of herself. Joy and Chris are such a sweet couple and they seem to have such a deep respect for each other. They all seem to have a lot of fun together and they really make a good family.

The boys were so entertaining. Both goofballs while they preformed for the camera, but also lots of genuine fun between the two of them. They used sticks for guns (but were not violent with them), they climbed trees, they pretended they were airplanes taking flight down the trail, and they even pretended they were zombies. I loved watching them and getting a glimpse of what it will be like for my son Blake (2) when he is their age. Lots of exploring and imagination coming my way. I love it!

Newbury Park Family Photographer – The Y Family

I don’t think you could have a more photogenic couple of girls. Or better yet, have a couple of girls love the camera as much as these two did! We spent the late afternoon taking a walk on my favorite trail. The girls were so sassy in their cute outfits, but also embraced their surroundings and ended up collecting acorns and sticks and leaves. It was a lot of fun documenting their discoveries. Mom and dad are just so in love with these two and really wanted the shoot to be mostly about them. The girls were so sweet to each other the entire time, it was heart melting. When I came home to my little squabblers, I showed them the images of the girls. I made sure to point out the sweetness and kindness that they shared with one another. Well, rubbing off on my girls didn’t seem to work, but it was worth a try, right?
