This family is awesome. In just one hour I felt such a sense of kindness about them. Also a mutual respect for each other along with mutual and complete adoration for little Mr. P (who, btw, couldn’t possibly be any cuter). Little Mr. P was such a gentleman humoring me with smiles. I am not joking when I say that most babies don’t like me. I don’t know what it is, and it may be a premature assumption, but I have a track record of getting plenty of stink eye from the babies. So his smiles made my day. It truly takes every ounce of willpower for me not to grab and kiss my client’s babies (stink eye or not) and Mr. P was no exception. The older siblings were AMAZING! The nicest kids ever! They live with mom in Canada and so it was without a doubt a fantastic idea to have their family photos taken while they were out visiting and I am SO happy they chose me.

The most photogenic family of the year award goes to this family. WOW! Even with “little dude” being afraid of me…or the camera…let’s say it was the camera…he was AMAZING. I was able to capture so many smiles. Little Dude and his big sister love each other so much! I just loved watching them together. During the shoot, there was running, dance moves, swinging, and stick collecting. It was perfect. =)

This is my second time photographing this adorable family. You can see the first shoot here. I really had a hard time narrowing down for this post. Baby G is so adorable and was the sweetest thing for me all over again. She is such a happy baby and even though we picked a time of day that was less than ideal for her, she still shined. I am obsessed with her beautiful hair and those eyes. I assure you, I did not photoshop those eyes. They are AMAZING! I can’t wait to do her 9 month shoot this month (yes I am behind on blogging). Also, this backyard is a photographer’s dream. I feel so lucky to have clients that can offer new spaces for me to photograph in.

This has got to be one of my favorite shoots this year. These cousins are not only so adorable and photogenic, but little Mr. H experienced his first visit to the beach EVER. To make things even better, it was low tide! He got to see star fish, crabs, sea urchin, and sea anemone. Then he saw his first surfer! He pointed and said “I want to do that!!!” So cute! I was so happy to have been there to document his first beach experience WHICH HE LOVED! He has the most amazing eye lashes that curl up! Make sure to look at the one black and white image towards the bottom of this post where you can see how the sun kissed them a bit. Older cousin, Mr. W was having so much fun as well. He is such a good kid and I felt that immediately when I met him. His aunt has been raising him since his mother’s passing a few years ago and it’s obvious she is doing a wonderful job.
This shoot not only offered me a way to tell a story (which I LOVE!), but it also was filled with wonder, excitement, and of course freedom for the kids to be kids. Every shoot should be 10 minutes posed (for grandma) and 50 minutes play. =)

I have known this cool dad since high school. It is so great that facebook is around to keep people connected. I am honored that they chose me to photograph their family. They are something special as you will see. Mama is super crafty and made her own bunting for this shoot. She also brought all of the props. Since I am not a prop photographer it was fun for me to have a change in scenery for my pictures. I am IN LOVE with these boys! Such GOOD boys. Such joy and happiness. Most kids don’t last the whole hour long session, but these boys didn’t complain once. They enjoyed climbing the trees, running on the bridge, and chasing the ducks. There was no shortage of moments to be captured, that’s for sure. This dad was EXACTLY how I imaged he would be as a dad. Playful and loving with his kids. And now they get to look forward to baby sister’s arrival soon. There is no doubt that she will be the luckiest baby sister around.
